Our team of specialist Corporate Partners are supported by experienced Corporate Managers. They advise on the purchase and sale of businesses across the price range from £0.5m to £10m, covering all industry sectors. Successful transactions recently completed have been for engineering, consultancy, building, farming, air cargo, transport and warehousing businesses. These transactions have included both trade sales and management buyouts.

- Are you the buyer or seller? Whichever you are, we can advise on valuation issues and how best to maximise shareholder value. Accurate valuation requires in-depth experience and well developed knowledge of the prices at which private companies are actually bought and sold. The Scrutton Bland specialists have numerous years of experience in this field. This has enabled them to develop their breadth of knowledge and expertise.
- Need help in negotiations? Our experts are experienced in helping in the negotiation of the deal and ensuring any agreement reached is clearly documented in Heads of Terms. In addition, we can design the appropriate legal structures that may be needed.
- Planning to buy a business? We also have the expertise to perform the accounting Due Diligence. Based on the investigation work we have carried out, we prepare a detailed long-form report on the target company. This provides you with clear conclusions and advice on the proposed transaction including advice on the price, tax efficiency, any other terms, plus the structure of the deal. Please note: If we feel that the sale is not right for the potential purchaser we will advise them not to proceed with the purchase with or to proceed on the basis of buying the assets of the business rather than the shares.
