Dan joined Scrutton Bland Ltd in 2004 as a Commercial Account Handler, which involved dealing with all aspects of existing business. He then became a Senior Commercial Account Executive, running a portfolio of business and handling new business enquiries, including commercial combined, fleet, liability, property, engineering and various other areas of insurance. In 2011 Dan became a Director of Scrutton Bland Ltd and remains actively involved in assisting new and existing clients with their diverse insurance needs. Dan's knowledge of the market and professional approach ensures competitive terms with established insurers.

Robert Brigg

Having joined Scrutton Bland in 2001, Rob is a Tax manager overseeing all the Corporation Tax compliance work in both the Colchester and Ipswich offices, with clients ranging from small owner-managed businesses to large corporate groups. Rob's role also incorporates a wide range of other services including capital allowance advice, quarterly tax payment forecasting for large companies and dealing with HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of his clients, in relation to issues such as tax return enquiries.

Emma Clifton

Emma is one of our assistant managers within our Ipswich Business Services department. She started with Scrutton Bland in August 2002 and has trained with us, qualifying as a Certified Accountant in April 2007. Emma's portfolio of clients includes sole traders, partnerships and small owner-managed limited companies, which includes the preparation of management accounts, annual account and tax compliance. Emma is our SAGE specialist and has extensive knowledge of Sage Instant Accounts and Line 50 packages. She provides daily support and advice to clients as well as training on a one to one basis.

Sally is a manager in the Corporate Services Department in the Ipswich office. She qualified with a practice based in Camberley, then moved to a big four firm in Reading before joining Scrutton Bland in 2006. Her role is primarily the management of audits for corporate clients ranging from small local owner-managed businesses to multinational groups. Sally has experience across a range of business sectors including freight forwarding, warehousing, storage and distribution, manufacturing and retail, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and utilities.

Marc joined Scrutton Bland in September 2011 as an assistant manager in the Ipswich Office’s Tax Department as a qualified Chartered Tax Adviser, passing the exams in 2004. He commenced a career in tax over 15 years ago and has worked in several Big 4 and Top Ten firms in Cambridge and London, advising high net worth individuals. Marc provides ad hoc advice on various projects for existing and new clients in varying areas of the tax system.

Graham Doubtfire

Graham joined Scrutton Bland in 2008 as a Senior Tax Manager in the tax department. Graham has brought to the firm extensive experience in dealing with the tax affairs of high net worth individuals and their families. This wealth of knowledge is used to assist clients with mitigating their exposure to income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax. Graham is particularly keen to work with Scrutton Bland clients and the in-house financial services team to assist with the planning that can be undertaken to mitigate the liability of tax for clients. The interaction with the financial services team compliments tax planning advice to work together to provide an integrated planning service. Prior to working with Scrutton Bland, Graham worked for Bird Luckin and was also part of a team delivering tax planning advice to farming clients including inheritance tax planning and smoothing the tax impact on fluctuating profits in the farming industry and is keen to use this experience to help our clients. Graham qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998 and as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 2000. He will be working at both Colchester and Ipswich offices of Scrutton Bland.

Jo Gilbert

Jo qualified with a mid-tier national firm and joined Scrutton Bland in May 2003 following a brief spell in commerce. Jo is a business services manager based in the Ipswich Office specialising in small owner managed businesses, including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies and provides accounts and tax compliance work on a timely and pro-active basis. She is able to advise on accounting software packages and assists clients with the problems they encounter in day to day record keeping. Two other specialist sectors where Jo has experience is working with smaller charities and on Solicitors' Accounts Rules assignments.

David joined the Colchester Office in July 1996 and completed his professional qualifications during 2002. During his time with Scrutton Bland, David has developed a wide range of skills in general practice and is now a Corporate Services Manager. In this role, he is responsible for managing a varied client base, which although primarily audit based, also includes audit exempt clients and a number of the firm's professional partnership clients. The clients for whom David manages vary in size from the relatively small to the very large and include one of Scrutton Bland's Higher Education clients. Starting as a Paraplanner with Scrutton Bland, Amanda is now the Back Office Manager of the Colchester and Ipswich offices. Amanda has over 16 years of experience in the financial services industry dealing with client queries, processing investment, pension and protection business and now manages a team of Paraplanners and Administrators who support the Financial Adviser team.

Claire joined the firm in June 2005 and is the Payroll manager overseeing the completion of many of our client payrolls on a monthly basis as well as the year end processing. She has worked in various payroll departments within the private and public sectors since 1972 and has an extensive knowledge of the SAGE 50 payroll system. She provides training to clients in the use of the SAGE payroll system and is able to assist on some of the more complicated payroll procedures including statutory requirements.

Teresa joined Scrutton Bland in 2006, having previously worked for a large national firm of accountants and auditors, and prior to this for a large housing group in East Anglia. Teresa has been an auditor for ten years and is one of our Internal Audit Managers. Teresa manages half of our portfolio of Internal Audit contracts and has auditing experience in a number of public sector areas; education, central government, health, housing and emergency services. Trained in Risk Based Internal Auditing techniques, Teresa has expertise in assisting clients to identify and develop their level of risk maturity.

As a manager in the Ipswich Business Services Department, Ted has a varied portfolio of clients with a significant emphasis towards farming businesses.
