Daniel began his career in finance, qualifying as a chartered accountant at a small regional practice, based in Norwich. Once qualified he spent a year dealing with VAT matters on a tax helpline, and started studying to become a chartered tax adviser. He then moved to a larger regional practice where he stayed for over ten years, developing his expertise and advising on a wide range of VAT issues.
In 2021 Daniel moved to a large corporate services provider as an indirect tax specialist, assisting multinational corporate clients with their international expansion plans, but he missed the intricacies of UK VAT and leapt at the chance to join Scrutton Bland to assist their tax clients with a multitude of complex VAT queries.
Outside of work Daniel enjoys spending time with his partner Zoe and their three daughters and baby son, and is busy renovating their bungalow in Norwich. He is also something of a fitness fanatic, attending the gym most mornings and volunteering at a local amateur boxing club, and he has recently started a career as a wrestler (WWE style) with a couple of matches under his belt. He enjoys watching Norwich City football club, going for walks, cooking, listening to music and playing video games.
