Audit Technician (Trainee)

If university is not for you, or you wish to earn while you learn, then joining our Training Programme as an Audit Trainee at our Colchester Office could help you achieve this by offering you the chance to gain valuable experience whilst studying towards a professional qualification.

We are looking for applicants educated to A Level standard in numerical subjects such as Maths, Science, Business Studies or Accountancy.  No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.

At Scrutton Bland we believe that potential is more important than grades alone.  We assess everyone who applies to us on individual merit and we support new talent through a combination of professional qualification and structured personal development plans to help you reach your potential.  Our team of experienced specialists provide accountancy, tax, audit, insurance, employee benefits and independent financial planning advice.

The role primarily involves delivering an external audit service.  You will be required to work as part of a team and assist with the completion of the audit work.  This is a client facing role where you will be representing the Group.  The majority of the work will be based at clients’ locations, often based there for 1-2 weeks with colleagues, therefore candidates must be prepared to travel, mainly locally within the East Anglian region, but some further afield and occasionally stay away during audit assignments. It is therefore a requirement that applicants hold a full clean driving licence and have access to their own transport.  Throughout the training programme our trainees will be given hands on practical experience on a varied client portfolio.  From our offices in Ipswich, Cambridge, Colchester and Diss we work with clients throughout the UK and beyond to find effective solutions which meet their individual needs.  Our clients are involved in a very wide variety of businesses, from high-tech research and development, higher and further education to charity and not-for-profit, haulage, construction, agriculture and goods production.
