Our team has just signed up to take part in “The Big Climb”,
but has yours? You can register now
and also be part of this fun day of indoor climbing and problem-solving challenges, all in aid of a great local charity, Emmaus Suffolk.
“The Big Climb
” takes place on Friday 27th September
at Avid Indoor Climbing, Bermuda Road, Ipswich.
It will be a series of entertaining and thought-provoking activities, with teams competing against one another in fundraising, problem-solving and indoor climbing (“bouldering”) challenges. No prior experience of climbing is needed and it’s ideal for non-sporty folk too, being more of a “puzzle” to solve.
We wanted to support Emmaus Suffolk because the charity provides such great help with mental health and practical support to some of the region’s most vulnerable and socially isolated people. They serve long-term unemployed or homeless people, including those living in vehicles or “sofa surfing”.
Claire Staddon, Chief Executive of Emmaus Suffolk, said “Everyone needs a leg up at some stage in their life. Most of us are lucky to have family or friends who can support us if we face a knockback, but not everyone does. Emmaus Suffolk offers companions a supportive team and a place to go where you can feel at home and valued, take a shower, do your laundry and eat, have your voice heard and learn new skills through meaningful volunteer work, all of which help to plan your next steps and get yourself back on track.
We’re so pleased to be involved in this important fundraising event. We look forward to meeting all the other companies and organisations who will be registered teams too.”
