Investing for Children and Juniors
Investing for children and juniors
Think about all the financial burdens your children will almost certainly have to face in their future years: tuition fees, inflated house prices and pension shortfalls, to name just three. We can help you set up funds for the benefit of your children, grandchildren or other young people you chose to support, providing their lives with a solid foundation.

Giving children an advantage in life
Many of the parents, grandparents and guardians we talk to are increasingly concerned about their children’s future pensions and provisions for later life. Early planning and making the right investment decisions now can help you give your children and grandchildren a leg-up when it comes to getting onto the housing market or providing a nest egg for their future.
Talking to one of our specialist investment advisers will help you plan:
- Junior ISAs
- Trusts
- Children’s pensions and SIPPs
- Inheritance tax management

Protecting your wealth for their future
Investing for children and juniors can also be an effective way of helping to reduce Inheritance Tax and enabling you to pass on your wealth more efficently. Traditional tax-efficient wrappers such as Junior ISAs, trusts and junior investment accounts can all help you to ring-fence funds, protect your investment and achieve future growth for the next generation.

What should you bear in mind?
Access to funds
Get clear advice on when the funds you are investing will be available to the beneficiary and, if you so wish, what they should be used for.
Legal trustees
If you were to pass away before time, or become incapacitated, who would administer the funds on your and their behalf? You should consider who else to name as a trustee.
Calculations
Think realistically about what costs they may face, and when, and be as specific as you can. Research how much higher education fees, property deposits, down payments, etc, may be in a few years’ time.
Communication
Be very clear with your loved ones, as well as your legal team, about the arrangements you are making, and share your ideas and wishes with them.
