Hare sculptures for the Hop to it art trail have arrived across Suffolk!
And once again, Scrutton Bland are proud to be sponsoring the trail in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice with their very own hare – Honey Bunny.
Combining the charm of a Hare with the sweetness of nature’s bounty, their pun-based design brings together uplifting colours and delicate details and is sure to attract plenty of attention outside the firm’s office on the corner of Crown Street in the centre of Ipswich.
Elizabeth Nichols, Scrutton Bland’s Marketing Director helped choose the design for the unique hare sculpture and said “this colourful design stood out to us immediately and felt like a very appropriate theme for us.
Our business has proudly supported many farming businesses across East Anglia for decades, so helping to protect bees and the important work they do as pollinators is so crucial for both the environment and our food supply…This is the third art trail that we’ve sponsored, and we love the buzz it brings to the town.
So, we’re looking forward to being part of such a great event that raises so much for such an important cause”.
Scrutton Bland commissioned the Honey Bunny sculpture from Bolton-based artist Helen Naylor – a professionally trained artist, who works under the name Pocket Wren.
Helen’s background of illustrating children’s books means she brings a playful approach to the design, and her love for the great outdoors influences her work, with the British landscape being her favourite subject.
Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 is the fourth art trail hosted by St Elizabeth Hospice in partnership with creative producers Wild in Art, following the success of Pigs Gone Wild 2016, Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk 2019 and the Big Hoot Ipswich 2022.
This year’s is the biggest yet with a mix of 130 Hares and Leverets on display across Suffolk.
The family-friendly discovery trail takes in Ipswich, Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Lowestoft and Beccles, and runs from 21 June – 29 August 2025.
People can get involved via the Hop to it! app that includes a trail map, sculpture listings and stats as well as some lovely rewards for visiting particular Hares.
Previous trails have raised awareness and funds for the hospice as well as encouraged more people to shop in the local area. The Big Hoot Ipswich 2022 raised £270,300 for St Elizabeth Hospice and it is hoped Hop to it! will be as successful in generating awareness and funds needed to support the hospice’s vital care provision to the community.
Liz Baldwin, Corporate and Sponsorship Fundraising Manager at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “Thank you to Scrutton Bland for their brilliant support of our latest art trail, Hop to it! Suffolk 2025.
“We are so grateful to all our incredible supporters, volunteers and sponsors for joining with us and making Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 our biggest and best art trail yet. Open throughout the summer, Hop to it! Suffolk 2025 will help raise awareness and funds for our vital services throughout the region.”
