Valuation

Valuations

Scrutton Bland boasts a Valuations Group of international repute, which sits as part of the Corporate Finance team.

As well as dealing with a significant volume of both fiscal (HMRC) and non-fiscal valuations for the firm’s client base, we have specific strengths in developing practice including growth shares, thinking around control premia and levels of value, shareholder deadlock scenarios, unfair minority prejudice, and thought leadership around intangible assets (particularly the valuation of data assets).

We work closely with the ICAEW in this regard and regularly present technical webinars and prepare articles for our professional institute.

Luke Morris

Luke Morris oversees and leads our valuation work. He has a vast amount of practical valuation experience, particularly with owner-managed and private family businesses, in both fiscal and non-fiscal cases (including dealing with the Courts). Litigation support is one of the specialist Valuation services offered by Scrutton Bland which Luke deals with. Real, practical experience, understanding and judgement from the purchase and sale of businesses is of crucial importance in this work.

Andrew Strickland

Andrew Strickland has a huge reputation in the business valuation industry, as well as in the wider business and professional community. He has been with the firm for almost 30 years. Andrew is now a consultant to the Corporate Finance team and is exclusively dedicated to supporting Luke with a significant number of live valuation assignments and cases. Andrew is a member of the valuation committee of the ICAEW and is on the board of the International Institute of Business Valuers.
