An update for clients - COVID19

Following the advice and guidance from the government and Public Health England we have made the decision to close our offices from Monday 23rd March 2020.

We understand that this is an unprecedented situation but want to take this time to reassure you that we have a robust business continuity plan in place that will enable us to minimise the impact of our service to you and your business and will continue to communicate with you regarding any updates.

Our people have the tools and technology they need to work remotely. Please continue to email or call your usual Scrutton Bland contact, or to phone our offices. The calls will be forwarded and answered as usual outside of the office. We have tested the robustness of this recently by asking teams to work from home and am pleased to say that this was a successful exercise.

Our client records are held electronically which means that our people should be able to access almost all necessary documentation and systems remotely whilst following our usual processes and controls.

We would like to encourage you to use email to send us information where possible instead of through the post, which may cause delays. If you need to send personal or confidential information then we suggest that you use our online portal, which allows you to send messages and files to us more securely than regular email. Please speak to your usual Scrutton Bland contact if you haven't used it before and would like a copy of our ‘how to’ guide. 

Please remember that we are here to support you with any questions you might have, however small. We are happy to talk through your concerns and work with you to find the right solution for you and your business.

How can I contact Scrutton Bland?
Please get in touch with your usual Scrutton Bland contact. Although our offices are closed and our people are working from home, they have the tools and technology to continue replying to emails and answering telephone calls. Can I visit one of the Scrutton Bland offices?
As of Monday 23rd March 2020, our offices will be closed, and you will be unable to visit them until they reopen.

When will the Scrutton Bland offices be open again?
We will continue to review the situation and keep you updated with details about when the offices re-open. We do not have a specific date at the moment but will keep following advice and guidelines from the government and Public Health England.

How will I know if my Scrutton Bland contact is unwell and unable to work?
Our staff have been briefed about the importance of keeping their out of office replies up to date should they be unwell. On these emails you will be informed about who to contact in their absence. Will documents sent in the post be received?
If the post is being delivered, we have processes in place to ensure that this is being distributed to the contact person. There may be a delay in this information being received but we will be working as quickly as possible to ensure that it is passed onto our teams. If you have an urgent document to send to us, please either email it to us, or use our secure online portal system.

How do I access the online portal?
Our online portal can be accessed via this link. You will need to enter your email address and password to enter securely.

I don’t have an online portal account currently. How do I create one?
Please talk to your usual Scrutton Bland contact and they will be able to set up an account for you.

How do I send documents via the portal?
We’ve put a useful step by step guide to help users send documents to us which can be found here. If you have any issues, please get in touch with your usual Scrutton Bland contact who will be able to help you.

How do I receive documents via the portal?
It’s easy to receive documents from us via the portal. You'll be sent a notification email with a secure link to the document. Once you have logged in you will be able to open the document as you would if it were a normal email attachment. Please refer to the step by step guide if you have any questions or contact your usual Scrutton Bland contact who will be able to help you.
