Nick Banks

Nick joined the firm in 1993 and trained until qualification.  Appointed a partner in April 2004 Nick is based in Ipswich leading our business advisory team.  Nick has spent much of his time with the firm working with rural business and has gained a deep knowledge and understanding through this work of the challenges faced by business in the agricultural sector.  Nick now heads up our Farm and Estates specialist team and recognises the need to provide sound advice at a time of significant change to the farming industry. Nick enjoys advising family owned business of which many are farms and estates but his clients also operate within manufacturing, services, leisure and construction.  Nick is a champion of cloud software and process change to deliver timely and insightful financial reporting.  Nick is finance partner for Scrutton Bland with responsibility for the group’s budgeting and financial reporting.  Nick serves as a trustee and Treasurer to St Elizabeth’s Hospice in Ipswich and is the Independent Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.  Outside of work Nick enjoys spending time with his family, walking his two dogs, is an increasingly optimistic Ipswich Town FC season ticket holder and spends the odd weekend maintaining and enjoying his 1968 MGC classic sports car.
